A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him. ~ David Brinkley

All the instructors were great and they did an excellent job of condensing the mountain of information you need to be in business for yourself into the short time frame. They also helped inspire me to think outside the box and be receptive to what the market demands which I feel is necessary when your crossing over to self employment.

Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. ~ Dale Carnegie

I would like to acknowledge the tremendous help and support that I received from Helen Furgale and the Self Employment Program. I have recently opened my business, Weinberg’s Good Food, a small grocery store and coffee shop located at Buckley Bay. We are so far feeling very positive about the potential success of our business and I believe in a large part this is due to the advance preparation and business plan that was created through the Program. Knowing now what is involved in starting a business, financially and logistically, I am certain that my participation in the Program has been instrumental in being able to successfully launch this business. I would especially like to thank Helen for her commitment to her clients and support through the process.

Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. ~ George Edward Woodberry

I would like to thank the Community Futures Program for the amazing start it has given me in establishing my new business.  The classes were invaluable, teaching me organizational skills, bookkeeping, time management and methods of advertising that I otherwise would not have had any knowledge of at the start up stage of my business.  It saved me time, money and most importantly loss of confidence which I’m sure I would have suffered had I learned these skills by trial and error.  The Community Futures program gave me confidence to carry on as I knew I had the support of the program to fall back on when I had questions of what to do next.
